Nepal Art Council participated in India Art Fair : January 28-31 2016.
India Art Fair is South Asia’s leading platform for modern and contemporary art and portal to the region’s cultural landscape. Founded in 2008, India Art Fair has become the bedrock of a now booming cultural community with connections to every level of the market.
The thematic focus of our presentation showcased a selection of six contemporary Nepali artists, whose works represented diversity in media and visual expression. Highlights included works which transcend the dichotomy of traditional/contemporary; social and political commentary and migrant identity or pure conceptual and formal works and political performance stills. It was the first time that the art work of top Nepali contemporary artists was curated and exhibited at such an internationally recognized art forum.
